Eastern Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 200 to 300 CE. A miniature, leaded bronze bust of a female cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process. The woman wears a flowing chiton with well rendered drapery folds gracing her chest that is pinned at the shoulders. She gazes forward with a tranquil countenance presenting delicate facial features topped by a drawn back updo coiffure. A lovely figural piece. Size: 0.9" W x 1.25" H (2.3 cm x 3.2 cm)
Provenance: ex Estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan USA acquired before 2000
