A fascinating pair of woven fiber Yam Masks from Papua New Guinea in the shapes of animal like forms. One appears to be a fish and the other an owl or bird. Yam Masks are used in Yam Festival ceremonies by Abelam People of New Guinea. The masks are woven and hand painted with clay pigment. From a private collection. Dimensions: 11"h x 5"w x 3"d / 8"h x 9"w x 4"d. In very good condition.
