Marion Dougherty was a casting director known for giving prominent actors such as Al Pacino and Glenn Close their first film credits. She entered the entertainment industry when a friend hired her as an assistant at Kraft Television Theatre. She gave Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman their first acting credits while working on the television series Naked City. She became notable for her casting decisions to be based on acting ability rather than type casting on appearance. She made history by being the first casting director to receive an entire title card to list her credit when Slaughterhouse-Five was released.
