CDV & Cabinet Card Archive (38) of Prominent Military & Political Figures
A group of 38 cartes de visite and cabinet cards, measuring between 2.5" x 4" and 5" x 7", New York, Boston, Newark, and other places, ca. mid-to-late 1800s. A fantastic archive of nearly forty photographs comprised of political and military figures the likes of Robert E. Lee, Horace Greeley, William E. Barry, Cyrus W. Field, Benjamin Disraeli, William H. Seward, Victor Hugo, James G. Blaine, and three portraits of Lucretia Garfield, the wife of President James A. Garfield. Several are unidentified. About half of the cards have backstamps. Range in condition from near excellent to good. Varying degrees of toning, soiling, and wear. Some have period ink or penciled signatures, inscriptions, and notations on verso.
