PAIR OF JAPANESE ZUSHI SHRINES, EDO. Comprising two traditional black lacquer shrines each with gilt metal hardware. Featuring at top a Nichiren shrine depicting two carved gilt wood Buddha figures at top (Sakyamuni and Taho) and with a figure of Nichiren below, together with another shrine depicting a finely carved and polychrome seated figure within a brightly gilded interior, the back of shrine with suspension loop. Greatest height 8.3 inches (21.3cm).
