ORNATE JAPANESE ZUSHI SHRINE. The black lacquer case mounted with ornate chased gilt brass hardware opening to reveal a finely carved gilt wood interior depicting a prowling dragon upon which rests two dieties, all raised on a high relief carved shaped base with deeply carved frieze with galloping animals. Height 20.75 inches (53cm), width 18 inches (46cm) (when closed), width when doors open 34 inches (86.5cm).
