He published The Practice of Medicine in 1847 which proved to be an important medical reference during the Civil War. This book discusses treating all kinds of diseases, seemingly leaving no known disease untouched.
NOTE: The black label at the bottom of the spine is a very rare and important feature of this listing indicating that this volume was one of a very small number curated by the U.S. government during the Civil War to aid the surgeons on the battlefield.
