Description
Hezekiah Baker (African American, 1940-2007). An original oil painting on Upson board. A Florida Highwayman wetlands landscape with a boat, river, floral and foliate forms, birds in flight, and a prominent central palm tree reflected in the water, all under a blue, yellow, and lavender sky. Artist signature to lower left. The artist was a founding member of The Florida Highwaymen, African American landscape artists mentored by Albert (Beanie) Backus (1906-1990). Presented in a rustic wood frame.

Work Size: 24 x 36 in.

Dimensions: 27 X 38.5 X 1.5 in.

Condition: Good overall condition, having normal to moderate surface wear, with an area of scuffing to lower left. Frame having moderate surface wear. Estate fresh to the market.
