Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC CUP PLATE, extremely rare, possibly unique, featuring the Landing of Gen. La Fayette at Castle Garden, 16 August 1824 in an oval medallion to center with full floral border. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 4 3/8" D.
