STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC RETICULATED BASKET AND STAND, featuring the "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE / At Castle Garden New York, 16th August 1824", printed below scene, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor. Each having impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 5 5/8" HOA, stand 10 1/2" x 8 1/2".
