Featured in this lot is this James K. Polk 1845 inaugural Indian peace medal. This peace medal features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows the 1845 James K. Polk inaugural medal with a presentation collar. These medals were given to the tribal chiefs and elders in the event of governmental treaties or ceremonies. The peace medal reads as follows: James K. Polk President Of The United States 1845 - Peace and Friendship. The condition of this peace medal is is well preserved for its age with some wear to the felt necklace and the underside of the trade cloth and shows a slight patina to the medal itself. The measurements of this peace medal is 19" x 10 1/2" x 1 1/2". The collective weight of this peace medal is 10oz.
