Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC VEGETABLE DISH, featuring "WINTER VIEW OF PITTSFIELD. MASS", as printed to underside, depicting the village green with a tree surrounded by fence, and a mother and child in foreground, with alternating floral and medallion border design. Additional marks to underside include an impressed crown with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" and yellow hand-brushed "2481 / 922". Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 1 3/4" HOA, 9 3/8" x 7 1/4".
