Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SOUP TUREEN, depicting the "ALMS HOUSE / BOSTON.", featuring a three and a half-story building with three figures in foreground, cover having "CAMBRIDGE COLLEGE / MASSACHUSETS.", depicting a large building with cupola. Each having printed pattern name and "BEAUTIES OF AMERICA / J&W RIDGWAY" to underside. John & William Ridgway, Hanley, England. 1813-1830. 9 1/4" HOA.
Excellent condition, base underside having a light hairline and an approximately 1 1/2" chip, cover with flake to interior flange. Manufacturing firing hairline to cover underside, as made.
