EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY: Seven pieces including one daguerreotypes, two tintypes, and four early photographs, all in frame, details include: daguerreotype of older woman in cap and mid-18th C. dress, accompanying hand-written note reads "Mrs. Elizabeth Hale Gilbert, wife of Mr. Jasper Gilbert, mother of Mrs. David Calhoun, great niece of Nathan Hale, loss of silver around edge, lid detached from leather case; tintype of older gentleman with accompanying notes "Jasper Gilbert" and "Husband of Elizabeth Hale Rose", lid detached from case; remnants of tintype of small child in gutta-percha case with raised figural and equestrian design, size of case: 5" x 4"; photograph of woman with rosy cheeks and bow, foxing; bust portrait of American General Winfield Scott "Old Fuss and Feathers" who fought in the Civil War and was an advisor to Abraham Lincoln, in metal frame, old printed label verso identifying the sitter, minor scratches, 1 5/8" h.; and two small button-sized metal frames with mid-18th C. sitters, two in military attire, one button is double sided, heavy wear and damages, all pieces with wear consistent with age and use and sold as is.
