Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Celadon porcelain Plate. The porcelain has a broad wide central interior, rounded rim, raised on correspondence footed ring base slight concave. The dish wall is finely carved in warm and uniform green celadon glaze applied to the whole body, sgraffito with flower bloom, foliage all in salubrious round medallion. In Chinese it is called Lu You. It is a lime glaze that contains copper oxide, which in the oxidative atmosphere, is green. Ever since the Ming Dynasty, there have been high temperature green and low temperature green glazes. The peacock green glaze. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy.
