Taino Pre-Columbian Anthropic Zemi. Fine example of the mammiform type. Full round breast with pronounced nipple-like protrusion. First described by Mason (1884). This Zemi has several interesting features. The face has pierced eyes that connect to the mouth. When inverted an abstract face materializes. When looking at the legs straight on one finds the legs are pierced through at the hips creating yet another spirit or ghost face. The base is concave, pecked and polished and slightly cupped.
