Visible 13 1/4 x 10 in. woodcut broadside printed in red and black (short marginal tears, minor creasing); matted and framed to 18 7/8 x 15 3/4 in. (not examined out of frame). 

Printed in the context of the Civil War, the broadside warns readers that "Every Man who does not stand up for the measures that may be Adopted for the Maintenance of the HONOR of the Country, at whatever cost of BLOOD or MONEY that may be necessary, is a TRAITOR AT HEART." Dramatically illustrated with vignettes of men at the gallows: one crying labeled "Too Late." The other hanged with a hood labeled "Thus Perish All Traitors." RARE: OCLC locates only 1 copy held at the New York Historical Society; only 1 copy sold at auction in 1924, Anderson Galleries, Rare American Lithographs by Currier & Ives and Other Contemporary Lithographers, Part IV, Lot 931.
