NASA Astronaut Office Signed Photo & Flag Display Commemorating Retiree, Contains 60+ Signatures!

Pair of signed photos, each matted to the overall size of 16" x 20", Houston, Texas, ca. 2002. A pair of two signed photos commemorating the retirement of NASA spokeswoman Barbara Schwartz, containing 60+ total signatures. Among the many signers are astronauts Alan Bean, Scott Allen, Vance Brand, John Young, and Robert (Bob) Crippen. Please see below and accompanying images for further condition information.

The lot includes:

1. Mounted photo signed featuring 28 individual signatures from NASA astronauts and engineers, inscribed at top "To Barbara- keep that smile-/lots of love,/The ol' folks in the astronaut office". Even edge toning to cardboard mount, with lightly bumped corners and fraying to top edge. An area of white paint can be found on bottom edge, not affecting signatures. Overall, good condition.

2. Matted photo and flag flown aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis commemorating retiree, featuring 40 individual signatures from NASA astronauts and engineers. Typed inscription to Barbara Schwartz found in the middle of the photo thanking her for her service and signed "The Astronaut Office". Light wear present to mat, with minor scratches to photo's surface. Else near fine condition.

Barbara A. Schwartz served in mission control during NASA's Space Shuttle Program, and would act as a spokeswoman for NASA on several occasions. The Space Shuttle Atlantis embarked on a total of 33 missions, orbiting the earth a total of 4,848 times. The mission referenced here, STS-110, launched on April 8, 2002 and lasted for a total of 10 days, arriving at the International Space Station with the purpose of attaching a truss to the U.S. Lab.
