Description
Pre-Columbian, Guatemala, Peten region, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A set of 4 matching pottery bowls with dark linear motifs visible atop the orange-red bodies. Each vessel features a thick rim and a squat foot, perhaps meant to be used in a familial setting. Size of largest: 6" Diameter x 4.1" H (15.2 cm x 10.4 cm)

Condition
Largest vessel has stabilization to one lengthy fissure, with light adhesive residue along break lines; the 3 remaining bowls are intact and very good. Each vessel has light abrasions, pitting, nicks, and fading to pigment. Nice decorations visible and great root marks.
