Description
Pre-Columbian, southern Peru, Nazca culture, ca. 200 to 300 CE. A truly spectacular vessel with some of the finest paint we have ever seen. This is a flaring kero (also quero) painted with the mythical feline Decapitator God with long serpentine body to which is attached 2 trophy heads, while two additional heads are at his temples. In his right hand he holds multiple weapons. A macabre yet stunning example of sumptuous Nazca artistry! Size: 3.875" W x 3.875" H (9.8 cm x 9.8 cm); 5.75" H (14.6 cm) on included custom stand.
