Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca, ca. 200 to 500 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel presenting a globular body skillfully hand-painted with a mythical being on both sides and a bridge handle spanning between a pair of conical spouts. This unusual creature is often "Anthropomorphic Mythical Being," a supernatural entity that can be interpreted as underworld deities or demons. hybrid of animals and anthropomorphic characteristics. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 7" H (14 cm x 17.8 cm)
