An appointment signed "Samuel Adams" as Governor of Massachusetts, affirming William Cooper Esq. as Register of Probate in Suffolk County. Countersigned by John Avery as Secretary. With a white embossed paper seal at the upper left corner with a pink ribbon. 1p, measuring 7.75" x 10.75", Massachusetts, dated November 21, 1796. The document has flattened folds, with uneven toning. Some creasing around the paper seal. Boldly signed.
