Description
Oliver Wolcott, Jr. (1760-1833) Statesman. Wolcott was the 2nd United States Secretary of the Treasury, a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Circuit Court for the Second Circuit and the 24th Governor of Connecticut.15” x 11” partially printed document signed, Hartford, May 30, 1823. The document is an appointment of Aurora Case as “Major of the Second Regiment of Light Artillery in the Militia of the State….” It has been counter-signed by State Secretary Thomas Day (1777-1855). The document is broken in three vertical folds, one through the “O” of the signature, light scattered age-spotting.
