Item Details

Description

American. 1870s. Nickel plated brass with two colour cased glass globe. The clear section of the glass globe is cut "D. ALLISON CONDUCTOR". Minor oxidation is evident in the nickel plating. Stamped, "Kelly Lamp Works, Rochester and New York" on the underside of the lantern. Kelly Lamp works was in operation from 1856 - 1889 following which they were taken over by the Rochester Headlight Works which remained in business until about 1920.
