TEXTILES: Pieced and appliquéd calico cotton quilt with 49 blocks, c. 1850, each block features a 12-point star-shaped flower design, with alternating brown and yellow points, centered with a white circle radiating blue triangles, (This block cannot be found in any encyclopedia of block designs, it is structurally different from other "Pinwheel" quilt patterns.), a double pink oval leaf is appliqued in each corner, forming a quatrefoil design where the block corners meet, there is minimal quilting following the pieced and appliquéd design, white backing fabric, straight grain white cotton binding, in very good condition, minor yellowing, measures 94" x 91 1/2".
