TEXTILE: Pieced calico quilt with a design of a Nine Patch block alternating with a plain calico block, set on point, c. 1840 with earlier top, cotton, two colors are used: a dark brown block print from about the 1790s, and another 18th-century block print with spindly floral vines on white, the large plain blocks in the quilt utilize the dark brown calico, the backing is a later c. 1840 print in a gray-blue/beige leafy design, binding is back to front, quilting is minimal, wear consistent with age and use, some brown dye loss in early block print on front, sold as is, 82 ½" h. x 70" w.
