Condition
Unexamined out of frame.
The panel, which is bevelled on all 4 sides, is in good order. There is a horizontal split, centre right, which is held on the reverse with a wooden batten. The varnish is a little dirty and scuffed. The paint surface is a little thin with the panel grain showing in parts.
Inspection under UV light reveals: infilling along the right-hand side of the aforementioned split; infilling to the panel grain throughout, particularly in the background; a little retouching to the figures; and scattered small infillings and retouchings.
