"After the Battle", oil on canvas, signed lower right, circa 1864. A Patriotic composition featuring a soldier standing on a hilltop flourishing a tattered flag surmounted by an eagle and victory wreath, holding a sword in his right hand, flanked by two injured soldiers and elders, wives and children mourning over their dead. In gold leaf replica frame, OS: 32" x 37", SS: 24- 1/2" x 29- 1/2", cleaned and relined. Sold at Sotheby's New York 09/21/1994, lot 18.
