DESCRIPTION: Napoleonic Grenadiers Cheval de la Garde Imperiale (Mounted Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard), Heavy Cavalry Sword featuring a hilt composed of brass presenting open work scroll designs along with a depiction of a vase with foliage, the blade with fine double fullers running the entire length, a leather grip with inlaid brass wire, a wood core scabbard wrapped with black leather and almost completely covered with brass apart from a cut out slot and suspension rings.
The blade bears the etched signature of Klingenthal – the state-run sword manufactory of the French Empire at the spine.
