A 1796 PATTERN HEAVY CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD TO THE ROYAL SCOTS GREYS (2ND DRAGOONS), 88cm blade with hatchet point, various edge nicks, stamped REDDELL on the back edge, regulation disc hilt, langets removed, D-shaped knuckle guard incised 2D. DS. KNo 47, ribbed wooden grip, chipped and split. Scabbard lacking. The 2nd Dragoons or Royal Scots Greys took part in the pivotal charge of the Heavy Brigade at Waterloo.
