Lot of four original photographs of the scuttling and burning of the German pocket battleship ADMIRAL GRAF SPEE on December 17, 1939, from the collection of Captain Douglas H. Everett, M.B.E., Royal Navy, captain of the H.M.S. AJAX. Included are three postcard photographs, each 3.5 x 5.5 in. b/w showing the once-proud vessel in flames and settling to the bottom, the fourth image 7 x 9 in. b/w, a press photo by local photographer A. J. Carbone, showing one of the front turrets of the blazing ship. This photo bears a heavy crease at upper-left. Four pieces.
