Description
(1893-1945) Panzer generalmajor awarded the Knights Cross with oak leaves, killed in action. A pair of partly-printed D.S.s. 1p. 4to., Oct and Dec. 1944, two awards of merit. The first, October 1944, regards the award of the bronze citation for bravery to Private First Class Gustav Tonn, leader of the squadron's signal corps on Apr. 4, 1944 in an incident in Dreznica [Slovenia]. In part (translated roughly): '..Despite heavy and violent enemy fire...used heavy weapons in the enemy-occupied area...'. The second report, December 1944, concerns Sergeant Egon Kleeberg for his bravery in an incident in Medak [Croatia] on Dec. 4, 1944: '..In the cavalry counter-attack...'. Each signed in light green grease pencil and very good.
