GRANDE BROCHE PLATINE ET DIAMANTS
Elle est de forme ovale à décor de drapés pavés de diamants taille brillant et baguette (TA) disposés en éventail. Au centre un diamant taille brillant (DT) en sertissure octogonale. Monture en platine (aiguille en or gris 18K). Non signée.
Poids brut : 28,39 gr.
Dimensions : 6 x 4,5 cm.
Poids du diamant central : 2,50 carats environ.
Poids des autres diamants : 12 à 15 carats.
Provenance : Exposition Internationale de Paris 1937. Selon les souvenirs familiaux, la broche est demeurée depuis dans la famille du commanditaire.

L'EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE DE PARIS EN 1937, UN ÉVÈNEMENT MAJEUR

Lors de cette manifestation, les joailliers français furent réunis dans un lieu réservé, le Pavillon de la bijouterie, joaillerie et orfèvrerie. Ce lieu était architecturalement réussi et moderniste. Il faut en passant,
saluer les deux architectes Hourlier et Schmidtt. Si l'architecture du bâtiment est soulignée, c'est qu'à l'évidence les bijoux présentés dans les différentes vitrines étaient modernes, de leur temps et novateurs. Pierre Mauboussin sut faire passer la Maison familiale de l'Art déco aux années 1930 en imprimant sa patte d'ingénieur qu'il fut également. Cartier, Chaumet, Boucheron et Boivin entre autres y participèrent. Une magnifque affche, signée par le photographe dessinateur JH. Lartigue, soulignait la féérie de l'évènement.

A MAJOR EXHIBITION

During this event the French jewelers were gathered in a reserved place, the Pavilion of the jewelry, jewelry and goldsmithery. This place was architecturally successful and modernist. We must salute the two architects Hourlier and Schmidtt. If I underline this building it is because obviously the jewels presented in the various windows were modern, of their time and innovative. Pierre Mauboussin knew how to take the family business from Art Deco to the 1930's by putting his own stamp as an engineer. Cartier, Chaumet, Boucheron and Boivin among others participated. A magnificent poster, signed by the photographer JH. Lartigue underlined the enchantment of the event.
