Chaloner (Sir Thomas) De rep. Anglorum instauranda libri decem, edited by William Malin, title with woodcut printer's device recto and portrait verso, woodcut head-pieces and decorative initials, errata to final verso, some foxing to title, tear to O7, mostly marginal, but just touching a couple of letters, without loss, occasional spotting or mostly light staining, lightly browned, later endpapers, 17th century speckled calf, rebacked, corners worn, rubbed, [STC 4938], small 4to, Thomas Vautrollier, 1579.

Ma[trimmed]' probably William Malin (1533-1594), headmaster of Chaloner during his time at St. Paul's and later his editor; William Leveson; John Serler, book cost him 12 pence (early ink inscriptions to title); Rt. Hon Charles Bathurst, Lydney Park (engraved armorial bookplate).
