Splendid Henry Clay PSA Signed Free Frank to Merchant & Philanthropist.
A free frank measuring 3" x 5.25", stamped March 15, (no year), Washington D.C. and addressed to Henry Grinnell of New York. Boldly signed by the three-time Presidential candidate "Henry Clay". Encapsulated by PSA/DNA. With scattered stains and dealer's notes in pencil on verso. The slab measures 4.25" x 7.25".
Henry Clay Sr. was an American attorney and statesman who represented Kentucky in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. He was the seventh House speaker as well as the ninth secretary of state, also receiving electoral votes for president in the 1824, 1832, and 1844 presidential elections.
