Lancaster, Pennsylvania Needlework Show Towel by Maria Landis, Dated 1832. Bold large peacock, spread-wing eagle, various birds, tulips and floral devices. (Peacocks were commonly used as guard birds on PA Dutch farms and symbols of respect, rejuvenation, honor, integrity, royalty, passion and beauty). Provenance: Sam Stayer Estate, Mt. Joy, PA, Birmingham, AL. Framed, 74-1/4" x 25" overall. Condition: Very good.
