Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A free-blown glass flask presenting with attractive, translucent hues of aubergine and peach. The spherical vessel has a slightly concave base, a gently corseted neckline, and a cylindrical neck with a large, flared rim and an in-folded lip. Vessels like this were used to hold scented oils and perfumes in a woman's toilette as was common in upper-class Roman society. Size: 3" W x 4.8" H (7.6 cm x 12.2 cm)
