Description

Pre Civil War Resignation of Captain of Samuel C. Lawrence in Company E in the 5th Regiment Infantry who eventually became Brigadier General of the 3rd. Brigade of the Massachusetts Militia, dated April 2nd 1857. A nice condition document on blue paper with tri fold ceases, ink stain to rear that lightly shows to front, and ink peppering when wet then folded on front left face of document, and a small bleach out stain in crease top left of state seal. Not opened since it was issued. The document is signed by Adjutant General of Massachusetts. Measures 15-3/4" x 9-3/4"
