Beneath Tropic Seas. A Record of Diving among the Coral Reefs of Haiti, by William Beebe. Very early book on marine life on coral reefs by the famed Director of the Department of Zoology of the New York Zoological Society. Excellent accounting by the distinguished scientist/diver of early diving using Miller Dunn 2 helmets, and early underwater film and photography in the Caribbean. There are several different editions of this book with different dust jacket. This edition is a 1935 Blue Ribbon printing of the original 1928 and the jacket features a painting of Beebe in his helmet. Book is in good condition with laser copy dust jacket in protective sleeve.
