ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC SPANIEL / DOG PAIRS, LOT OF THREE, each sitting, wearing a collar with locket and a chain, comprising one red-spotted example with tail wrapped around hind leg, and two examples with tail curled onto back including one having black-spotted decoration and one with scattered gilt spots. Unmarked. Second half 19th to 20th century; black and white example possibly mid 20th century. 9 1/2" to 12 5/8" H.

Three undamaged, except some having scattered wear to enamel and gilt decorations and/or crazing; one gilt-spotted dog with Y-shaped hairline to back; one red-spotted dog with hairline above back haunch and other having crack starting at front of neck extending down back with old, flaking restoration/paint and minor chip on back of ear. Some having manufacturing flaws including firing separations, as made.
