Description
A CHINESE TOMB FIGURE OF A CIVIL OFFICIAL, ATTRIBUTED TO THE SONG DYNASTY (960-1270), the standing figure with double-crested headdress has delicately carved eyelids; he stands with a small reservoir for a flower or incense at the abdomen where his hands hold the offering, wearing straight robes with wide trim and a low slung belt; the figure is covered in a pale green and cream sancai glaze over earthenware. Height: 10" Diameter: 2 1/2"
