Item Details
Description
Fine pair of m1851 enlisted or non-commissioned officer belt buckles. Buckles such as these were worn on the sword belts of U.S. cavalrymen and artillerymen, as well as on the waist belts of non-commissioned infantry officers.
Both buckles are in good condition, with their silver-washed stamped brass wreaths expertly applied with solder. One buckle is accompanied by an original hook which would have allowed it to be properly affixed to a waist or sword belt.
