A carved wooden Tsaay disc shaped mask with raised linear designs, kaolin clay pigment and attached feather collar and raffia grass regalia. The handling and wear suggest many years of traditional use. Teke peoples, Congo, central Africa. The mask measure 16.5 x 12.5 inches, not counting the hanging grass or feather headdress. A metal display stand can also be included for an additional $50.00. Provenance: Ex. J.Camp Gallery, New York, Ex Sol & Josephine Levitt collection, New York.
