Description
A Carved wooden mask with stylized face and attached raffia grass headdress with three conical horns on top. The mask shows plenty of handling and wear. This mask is a Pumbu Mbuya mask, used in entertainment masquerades it is typically considered the "Executioner" delivering judgment on the accused. Such dance dramas are used to teach social rules and norms among the tribe. The mask measures 18 x 10 inches, a large face mask that could be worn by an adult.
