Item Details

Description

Composite M1855 Springfield dated 1859. Action works great, lock lid engraved with an American Eagle. The lid will open and close. Rear sight and barrel appear to be from a M1861 Springfield, perhaps a war-time alteration (seen on other examples). Metal has a pleasing patina. Standard configuration, length, etc. Barrel's bore has rust (needs to be cleaned), rifling not visible if present.

Condition as shown.
