1856 Japanese Samurai Weapons Daimyo Hideyoshi Illustrated Buyou Benryaku
A rare Japanese woodblock print of “Buyou Benryaku” written by Yoshitoshi Kinoshita. Kinoshita was a samurai and daimyÅ during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, retainer of the Toyotomi clan, and close associate of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. During the Bunroku Campaign, he served as a commander of mounted soldiers and led 1,500 soldiers to defend Nagoya Castle. This book is a compilation of military strategy abbreviations and diagrams.
This rare 1856 edition of 5 tomes is written in Kanbun in the typical column format bound in the “fukurotoji” style (Keio) complete with numerous illustrations of armor, weaponry, animals, formations, and more!
