West African, Nigeria. Yoruba beaded tunic / vest made of glass beads and cotton and depicting figures, snakes, geometric motifs, and animals. Traditionally worn on ceremonial occasions by priests dedicated to Shango, the Yoruba god of thunder.The tunic measures Approx. length 48"(from shoulder to hem), w. 28.625".
Condition
Wear to edges, some scattered loose threads, areas of discoloration to interior fabric, and some scattered loose beaded strings.
