Description
STAFFORDSHIRE FRENCH VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTERS, LOT OF TWO, comprising "HERMITAGE EN DAUPHINE", and "VUE DU TEMPLE / DE LA PHILOSOPHIE / ERMENONVILLE", each with printed pattern name to underside, having floral and fruit border design, from the French series. Additional marks to underside include impressed "WOOD", "14", and "16". Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England. 1818-1846. 14 7/8" x 11 1/2" and 16 3/8" x 12 3/4".

Dauphine example undamaged; Ermenonville example having minor chip to rim edge with some usage wear including scattered scratches. Manufacturing flaws including Dauphine example with glaze flake to interior and stilt marks, as made.
