Description
WWII group from Technical Sergeant Kenneth L. Gurney of Otsego, NY who served as Navy sailor from 1929-33, and then with the 330th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group, 8th AAF in Europe. He was a radio operator on the B-24 The Traveling Circus. On 29 March 1944, his plane collided with another mid-air and he was the only one able to bail out, making him the only survivor of the ten-man crew. Included are his privately engraved boxes Purple Heart, Air Medal, and New York State (sterling) Conspicuous Service Cross. Also a sterling 3 inch aircrew wing, boxes officially engraved wrap brooch Navy Good Conduct medal, rank stripes, campaign medals and ribbons, collar discs, rank insignia, and copies of the missing air crew report.
