Description
Korean War Killed In Action group to Pvt. Hershel B. Burch, of Tulare, California, Co. C. 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in Korea. He was KIA near Nago-Ri, North Korea on 7 November 1951. He earned a Bronze Star for valor by volunteering to remain behind to give covering fire for his comrades who were withdrawing due to overwhelming enemy action, resulting him being fatally wounded by a mortar shell. Includes his officially engraved Purple Heart and Bronze Star, campaign medals (boxes for each medal), patch, DUI, sterling CIB, and a copy of his IDPF. The CIB, 7th Cavalry DUI, unit citations, and Korean UN medal appear to have been added by the previous owner as they are more modern.
